WOYWW: Seashell Lamps and A Princess

Happy Wednesday, dear blog friends!  Today, for What's On your Workdesk Wednesday, I have lots of stuff to put away and almost no more space to work on!  Here are the lamps that I had made using the paper and x-ray cutouts with seashell patterns (for my daughter's Fine Arts thesis).  They look great when they're lighted!  And you can also see the book I chose for Elizabeth's Altered Book Class.  I have taken out pages and wall puttied pages together (so that I don't have to fill up too many pages).

Here is another project using the seashell patterns.  These are old eyeglass lenses that I am recycling into jewelry like pendants, pins or earrings and maybe even magnets (again for my daughter's thesis about "Fractals and Patterns from Seashells Applied as Graphic Elements.")

And here is a wonderful giveaway that I won from Lisa Lectura (no wonder I love joining giveaways!)  It is an original hand painted and hand stitched art quilt created by Lisa! The size is 2.5" x 3.5" and 100% made with love!  When I got Lisa's email, I was already thrilled, but when it arrived and I took a closer look, I realized that not only is she amazingly lovely but she also has a special meaning for me because she is a Princess.  Princess is a word that has been in my heart in a special way this year - I am the daughter of a King, and so I am a Princess. Thank you so, so much, Lisa for this precious gift!

Why not drop by my previous posts, take a peek at more desks and join in the fun!

Lucky you, winning that lovely giveaway. It is gorgeous. I love, love, love those fractal patterns. I have a ton (seriously, a TON) of eyeglasses no one wanted to take off my hands. This gives me a really great idea for how to use a few of them. Thanks for the inspiration.

BTW, I love those lamps. They are beautiful not lighted, so I can only imagine what they look like lit.

Yep, AB classes are every OTHER week. Next Monday will be the day.

Thanks for visiting Peggy. You have a great space. It's the drawing which prompts dreams, and back and forth.if you begin to write them down- even just notes, you remember them much better.I did this several years ago- could remember them much better.

Fab post, love those exquisite lamps and such a great idea to use spectacle lens. The only trouble is they would have to be odd ones as I send all mine to India to a project to provide glasses for the needy.
Beautiful prize too.
Love JoZarty x

Love those lamps and bet they are even lovelier when lit and a clever idea to use the odd lenses as art jewellery.
Good to see you have started on your AB. Have taken the pages out of mine ready but still not finally decided on a theme - have general idea but need to narrow it down.

Those lamps are so beautiful, and must take a tremendous lot of work. I would love to see them lit. Thank you for your visit, and I am glad I am not the only one complaining about the WV thing. Strangely, I have not come across one instance of it so far this week, so perhaps a bit of collective grumbling from us will see it disappear. Have a wonderful week. xx Maggie #9

Those eyeglass lenses are really SPECtacular (no really, my brain thought that up). A friend has an optometrist hubby and gave out a bunch of lenses once to see what we could make with them. I zapped mine with a heatgun (the results? I no longer remember!). Those lamps are great and I'm sure they look very nice when lit. What a great prize you won. From one princess to another, have a great day!
