WOYWW: Tidy or Not

Oh, my, both my desks are in a mess and it is time for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  Here is my main desk...

and this is my prayer desk!...

Well, talking about this mess, I recently read a reflection by Dorotheus of Gaza...

"I heard it said of a brother that if, when he went to see someone else, he found his cell in a state of neglect and in disorder, he told himself: “How happy is this brother to be completely detached from earthly things and to carry his spirit on high so well that he doesn’t even have the time to tidy his cell!” If he then went to another brother and found his cell tidy, clean, and in good order, he told himself: “This brother’s cell is as clean as his soul. As is the state of his soul, so is the state of his cell!” He never said of anyone: “This one is untidy,” or: “That one is frivolous.” Because of his excellent state, he benefited from everything. May God in his goodness also give us a good state so that we might benefit from everything and never think badly of our neighbor."

Hopefully, the state of my desk does not reflect the state of my soul!  But then, I am also not like the one who was "completely detached from earthly things... that he doesn’t even have the time to tidy his cell!"  Fortunately, in WOYWW, there are tidy  and clean desks and no one thinks badly of anyone, whatever the state of their desks!  1 Peter 5:5 gives good advice: clothe yourselves with humility!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

WOYWW: Lost and Found

I did some tidying up last weekend but hardly got any space cleared!  There is just enough space for my watercolors, pencil box of basics (a pencil, an eraser, sharpener, a pair of small scissors, 02 and 05 Pigma Microns, and a white opaque Uni-ball Signo pen) and my prayer journal.

But because I tried to organize and tidy up, I found a painting that I misplaced!  I had been wondering where this painting was and I was delighted that it turned up!

That's it for this edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.  I am still trying to get used to being in the kitchen and cooking so I don't have much time for other more enjoyable activities like art and blog hopping.  But, although we have lost our cook, I'm hoping we will find our talents in cooking!  Have a blessed week, everyone!

WOYWW: Watercolors

It's time for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday! I've got new set of Artist's Loft watercolors and I'm trying them out today in my prayer journal. I'm liking the bright colors! There not much more to see since this is my small prayer desk.

I haven't gotten the hang of kitchen duties yet so not much time to do any other art and my main desk is in dire need of a tidy up!

For those of you who enjoy Word art, an illustration from my prayer journal. Blessings to all!

WOYWW: Dumaguete

Belated Happy WOYWW Anniversary, WOYWWers of the world!  I can't believe that I actually missed posting on that special What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday :-(   I was down with a bad cough because of the cold weather of Montreal, and spent Wednesday last week traveling to San Francisco to visit my son in Berkeley.

Soon after we arrived home, we traveled to Dumaguete where my "desk" today is.  Well, it is actually a bed because I am packing to go back home again. Dumaguete is in the island of Negros so there's a tourist map on the left, together with some buys from the souvenir shop.

The main attraction in Dumaguete is a trip to Apo Island where there is a sea turtle sanctuary.  Swimming with the giant sea turtles was an awesome experience...

My family and I were the only ones staying in this resort...

and this was my view, watching the sunset. Can't help but feel really blessed!

I hope you, too, are feeling blessed with the little ordinary blessings of life.  Although it is wonderful to take vacations, for me, there's still no place like home.  Goodbye, Apo Island...

Posting this late since I couldn't get it to go through using the hotel's WI-Fi.
