WOYWW: Brunei

I have just returned from a trip to Brunei and for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, my desk has some of the things I bought there.  Brochures and maps...

Indonesian "sarongs"(a large tube or length of fabric, often wrapped around the waist and worn by men and women throughout much of South Asia,Southeast Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Horn of Africa", and on many Pacific islands)...

and a macro / fish eye / wide angle clip lens for my iPhone (I haven't tried it yet)...

WOYWW: After a Tidy Up

I finally found some time to tidy up the piles on my desk (I'm not saying anything about the floor, though).  So today, you can actually see my desk!  I'm editing a photo on my iPad for Instagram...

and finishing an illustration in my prayer journal...

Indeed, these words are meaningful for me because it was as a young college student that I sought the Lord and His wisdom.  It made all the difference in my life and I am grateful.

WOYWW: Home Sweet Home

Happy What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  I just woke up after our flight from Budapest and I got home to a wonderful pile of WOYWW Anniversary ATCs.  I am so pleased with the new ATCs from Jo (Twiglet), Annie, Christine (Bishopsmate), Maisie Moonshine, Lisa and Kate.  

Beautiful additions to my collection!  Of course I have to finish addressing envelopes and sending the ATCs I owe to these lovely ladies and that's what's on my desk as well.

I enjoyed the flea markets in Berlin and Budapest (I guess it is a good thing I don't live in Europe or I would be in the flea markets ALL the time!)  Here are some of my "treasures." I hope the watch I bought for 5 Euros will work when I change the battery...

WOYWW: Goodies from Singapore

Happy What's on your Workdesk Wednesday!  I've just gotten back from a trip to Singapore and here is our cat Truffles inspecting what's new on my desk - a desk mat from Ikea and a folding laptop desk (polka dotted) for when I want to work in bed.  I always come home from a trip with some maps and souvenirs...

and I have a new stamp carving kit from Art Friend (I hope I get to use it!)

I won a copy of "Life after Art" from Ramona over at Create with Joy and it arrived this week.  Thank you so much, Ramona!  I haven't started reading it yet but it looks like a really great read.  Matt Appling, the author, says, "the art room’s most enduring and timeless lessons are not for kids learning to paint or draw, but for adults who finally want discover how to live the lives they were created for."  You can even read the first chapter here. WOYWW: Painting WIP

The desk is filled with painting supplies this Wednesday for our WOYWW Link Party.  Not much progress on the ATCs though since Instagram and the many iPad photo editing apps have been distracting me from painting.

My Instagram post for today is in honor of "The Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation for Those Who Lost Their Lives during the Second World War, an occasion for all States to unite in dealing with new challenges and threats." 

Each year the UN pays tribute to all victims of the Second World War. The UN General Assembly proclaimed this Time of Remembrance in 2004. 

My prayer journal illustration has a verse from Acts 17 that reminds me...

WOYWW: Ipad Apps

Happy whatever the day of the week it is, everyone!  I hope today is a good day for you!  It is for me and as my prayer journal illustration says, "I will bless the Lord at all times." Psalm 34:2

No new art projects on my desk because I've been busy playing with my ipad mini, posting some pictures on Instagram (my user name is peggyapl) and having fun with some makeover apps.
