One World One Heart 2011

The Giveaway is now closed.
Thank you for all your comments.
I will announce the winner in the next post.

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog,
where I like to think I am sowing seeds around the world -
seeds of faith, or hope or maybe, creativity!

It's finally time for the much awaited
international bloggers' event organized by Lisa Swifka,
One World One Heart,
where bloggers get to meet one another
by visiting one another's blogs.

I hope you will enjoy your visit to mine.
I wish you...

and all the other
in life.

As a mother,
 I remember well,
hoping for all of these for my baby.

As an artist,
one of my favorite themes is
the Mother and Child.

I make mother and child artist trading cards

as well as bigger works.

I also like painting and collaging bookpaper trees
(more trees in this post.)

To make my One World One Heart giveaway,
I used the technique I described in this post
and I also added a bit of lace and paper collage.

I am giving away an original 9" x 12" mixed media piece
of a mother and child and her tree of hopes and dreams.

May this painting remind us to plant seeds, of faith maybe, or generosity, or wisdom, or goodness, with hopes that, like the leaves in this tree, these seeds will sprout and flourish in abundance, and bear fruit.

If you are a blogger and would like a chance to win my giveaway, please leave me a comment on this post and a way to get in touch with you if you win.  I will announce the winner on February 17th.  Since Lisa, the organizer of OWOH encourages us to have the giveaway open to bloggers only, I am following her recommendation (she is organizing it, after all). Even if you are not a blogger, I hope you will drop by and visit again, since my other giveaways are open to everyone.

Thank you so much for dropping by!  Now that you have visited me here in the Philippines, why not drop by the other blogs on the OWOH list!

Hi Peggy! All the way from Indiana, USA! You're work is so touching, it brings a tear to my eye to remember myself holding my son as a baby. Such sweet memories, especially now since he doesn't want to be held much! Your bookpaper trees hit me too, I painted a huge tree in my son's room when he was a baby and to me, trees just seem to wrap their loving branches around us to keep us safe. I love what you've done with your work.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY PEGGY,
MAY IT BE FULL OF LOVE, GRACE, AND WISDOM,
I WOULD CHOOSE THE GIFT WISDOM ABOVE ALL OTHER GIFTS IF IT WAS OFFERED TO ME.
MY ONLY DAUGHTER AMY, DIED OF CANCER AT THE AGE OF 33 YEARS ALL THOUGH SHE HAS BATTLED IT OFF AND ON SINCE 10 YEARS OLD. MY PROFILE PICTURE IS AN ART PROJECT SHE MADE FOR ME OUT OF PACKING STYROFOAM.
I STARTED TO DO ATC'S TO GET MY SANITY BACK.
ART THERAPY IS HEALING.
YOU PREPARE YOUR CHILD FOR EVERYTHING AND THEN THEY MUST WALK HOME ALONE TO JESUS. MY FAITH WAS MY SAVING GRACE...I DO NOT TELL YOU THESE THINGS TO GET SYMPATHY, I JUST WANT EVERY ONE TO HUG THE ONES THEY LOVE TIGHTER AND TELL THEM HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THEM, AS WE NEVER KNOW...LIFE IS VERY SHORT. I ONLY HAVE ONE SON/ AND HE WAS 28 ON FEB. 12, 2011, AND IS MARRIED TO A TEACHER.
YOUR ART WORK IS SO VERY STUNNING AND FULL OF GRACE. YOU HAVE AND WILL TOUCH MANY LIVES THROUGH YOUR PAINTINGS AND COLLAGE...SUCH INSPIRATION AND LOVE CAPTURED IN THE FACES. YES, OF COURSE, LIKE EVERYONE, I WOULD LOVE TO WIN. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE IN BLOG LAND THAT HAD CHILDREN PASS ON TO JESUS BEFORE AND AFTER MY BELOVED AMY.AMY'S BEST FRIEND, LEILA THAT BARELY LEFT AMY'S SIDE WAS FIGHTING OVARIAN CANCER. SHE LIVED 15 MONTHS AFTER AMY AND OUR PASTOR SAID HEAVEN WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME WITH THOSE TWO TOGETHER AGAIN. LEILA WAS LAID TO REST, LAST SATURDAY, AT THE PLOT BELOW AMY'S FEET. IT IS A VERY UNIQUE STORY OF 2 GIRLS, ALWAYS LAUGHTING...THEY WERE LIKE LUCY AND ETHEL ONLY MUCH YOUNGER...THEY DRESSED IN THE SAME COLORS, HUGE FAITH, ALWAYS TOGETHER. THE WORLD LOST 2 SHINING STARS...BUT HEAVEN REJOICED...AND I WILL SEE THAT MY DAUGHTER AND LEILA WILL ALWAYS BE KEPT ALIVE BY TELLING THEIR STORY AND WILL BE UNITED WITH MY BELOVED DAUGHTER AND LEILA AGAIN WHEN JESUS CALLS ME HOME..
I HOPE YOU HAVE A BLOG BUTTON... I WOULD BE HONORED TO DISPLAY IT. I WILL TRY TO FOLLOW YOU BUT THE 27 BLOGS I HAVE BEEN TO TODAY WILL NOT LOAD THE GOOGLE FOLLOWER WIDGET.GRRR I HOPE YOU WILL VISIT MY BLOG AND I WOULD BE SO VERY BLESSED IF YOU CHOSE TO FOLLOW ME.
