Nothing much on my desk today except an outdated calendar I bought on sale. I bought it because I thought the sturdy pages and spring binding would make it good to alter but I realized it also makes for an interesting read because it's about "Women Who Dare." Its introduction starts,
"'Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations,' wrote Louisa May Alcott. 'I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.' The women featured in this edition of Women Who Dare followed their own aspirations, despite often daunting impediments..."
As for me, my aspiration is to be like the woman in Psalm 1...
Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

A lovely drawing . Happy woyww Jill #10
Sounds like a great read. I love Little Women. I think that quote sounds just like something Anne (of Green Gables) would say, even though she didn't write that. Your painting is beautiful as always. I really like the way the water comes in at the bottom.

Lovely. Lovely art of course. Lovely verse. And lovely that you picked up something so great that would otherwise have gone un-noticed!
I love your art work with the psalm verse. Amen to that.
I've heard about 'women who dare'. I recently received a postcard from the US with a photo of a 19th century native american woman who was the first ambassador and translator for her people. It was a postcard in the series: Women that Dare'.
Thanks for sharing,
Have a great week,

I love reading other women's thoughts on strength and accomplishments and goals! Sometimes we need that little extra bit of help to get over a current hump! I love the drawing you made to go along with the Psalm!
