WOYWW: Friendship & Family

Did you know that yesterday, July 30, was International Day of Friendship? The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.  "On this International Day of Friendship, let us cultivate warm ties that strengthen our common humanity and promote the well-being of the human family."- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

I think What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday is a fine example of friendship between peoples and countries!  Thank you, dear WOYWW friends for your friendship.  Maybe we should find out how many countries are represented in this UN of desks!  What country are you from?

And among my best friends are the members of my family!  I am blessed to have three sisters and one brother.  All of us sisters work together and as some of you may know, my sister, Patsy (who actually introduced me to WOYWW) and I live right next to each other!

Happy WOYWW, dear blog friends!

WOYWW Prayer Journals

For What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, I have a different desk to show you.  It is my bedside desk which I cleared to make space for my quiet time in the morning, including my basic watercolors and colored pencils for the illustrations I like to make when meditating on a bible verse.  I don't always get to finish them in the morning, so here you see I've been coloring some past day's illustrations.

I received a wonderfully colorful ATC from Neil and here it is on top of my journal.  You can't see it from this photo but it has an amazingly shiny finish that makes it look like stained glass or ceramic tile. Thanks, Neil!  I'll get your ATC to you as soon as possible!

For more desks and the projects on them, visit Julia's Stamping Ground for the WOYWW list.  Happy crafting, everyone!

WOYWW Word Art Wednesday

Hello, dear blog friends!  Here is a small part of my desk (the only part where you can still see the desk).   There's a Fiskars Multi-Snip that I bought on sale for the equivalent of £3.90.

Here is a progress report from World Vision for a child we are helping.  For less than £10 a month, you can help a child and his community have "access to: education, health care, nutritious food, clean water, livelihood opportunities and more."

And for those who enjoy my prayer journal illustrations, here is one that encourages me to carry out God's commands...

Sharing this in What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and Word Art Wednesday!

WOYWW: Hurried Art

Thank you, What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, if not for you, my desk would have nothing new!  But since I am supposed to post a picture of my desk, I hurriedly paint and post what I've painted!  Notice the hair dryer? That's so that the watercolors don't run into each other in the rush of trying to get something done for WOYWW!

So this is what I finished today, just in time for Word Art Wednesday!  Sharing this in Paint Party Friday as well.

WOYWW: After a Tidy Up

I finally found some time to tidy up the piles on my desk (I'm not saying anything about the floor, though).  So today, you can actually see my desk!  I'm editing a photo on my iPad for Instagram...

and finishing an illustration in my prayer journal...

Indeed, these words are meaningful for me because it was as a young college student that I sought the Lord and His wisdom.  It made all the difference in my life and I am grateful.

Paint Party Friday: Word Art

Hello, dear blog friends!  For Paint Party Friday and Word Art Wednesday, here is an illustration I made for my prayer journal.  This verse from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 reminds me of how God has encouraged me through every challenge I have faced and how I can encourage others who face challenges as well.  Life is full of challenges, but for me, it is so much easier to handle them with God and with the support of people around me.

WOYWW: 4th Anniversary Artist Trading Cards

I finally got around to sending out my WOYWW 4th Anniversary ATCs and on my desk today, I am putting the ATCs I received in my ATC album.  Here are just a few of the wonderful ATCs I received...

There is also a new book I bought (I often just get to look at the pictures of books like these).  Lots of inspiration here!

And lastly, an illustration from my prayer journal for Word Art Wednesday.  Indeed I have received much and have been blessed greatly and this verse reminds me to be generous and give without cost...

What's up in the other desks of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?  I haven't gotten settled enough after my trip to get around to visiting but hopefully (hope springs eternal!) I may have the time this week.  Thank you for your visits and lovely words of encouragement.  I am indeed blessed!

WOYWW: Home Sweet Home

Happy What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  I just woke up after our flight from Budapest and I got home to a wonderful pile of WOYWW Anniversary ATCs.  I am so pleased with the new ATCs from Jo (Twiglet), Annie, Christine (Bishopsmate), Maisie Moonshine, Lisa and Kate.

Beautiful additions to my collection!  Of course I have to finish addressing envelopes and sending the ATCs I owe to these lovely ladies and that's what's on my desk as well.

I enjoyed the flea markets in Berlin and Budapest (I guess it is a good thing I don't live in Europe or I would be in the flea markets ALL the time!)  Here are some of my "treasures." I hope the watch I bought for 5 Euros will work when I change the battery...

Some pictures of my trip to Berlin...

Vienna...

and Budapest.

For more pictures and the descriptions about these places, please visit my Instagram/Statigram account (my WOYWW post is too long already!)

While I was away, the only art I got to do was in my prayer journal and so I leave you with this encouragement...

I'm sorry but I have not had the time to visit much these past days but I am always hoping to get to visit.  Thank you for taking the time to visit and leave me your wonderful comments, blog hugs I call them!

WOYWW: Guten Tag!

Hello from the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria!
I am still on vacation and so, for this edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, my desk is a hotel side table. Notice the umbrella?  We had a very wet welcome when we arrived yesterday!
Today is Philippine Independence Day!  Coming from places where there has been so much war and enslavement, I am thankful that all throughout my life, I have been free!
In my prayer journal I drew a Philippine flag in the background.  When our country is at peace, the flag is flown with the blue band on top.  If our country were at war, it would be flown with the red band on top.
Happy WOYWW and Philippine Independence Day, everyone!

WOYWW: Berlin Edition

Hello from Berlin! I am posting from an iPad so this will have to be a short post ( Julia, the queen of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday does recommend a short post anyway and finally I will comply!)
This is my bedside table which is all the desk I have.  If I owe you an ATC, I'm afraid you will have to wait a while since I did not finish addressing the envelopes before I left.

Happy WOYWW everyone!
