WOYWW: Step by Step

After last week's "typhoon"desk, I hoped that I would be able to show you a tidy desk today for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday (usually hosted by Julia, but for now Lunch Lady Jan is subbing for her).

But instead of the calm after the storm, it's more like ongoing rehabilitation efforts. This is a classic case of the push back method!

But then, in tidying up, just like life, we don't have to accomplish everything all at once.  We can always just take it step by step!

So sorry for the lack of creativity!  Here are some pictures from my recent trip... San Francisco, where my son lives,

and Yosemite where God's creation is awesome!...

Happy WOYWW!

WOYWW: El Nido, Palawan

My desk has my sewing machine on it and one of the embroidered blouses I bought in India...

I missed What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday last week because I didn't have a desk to post.  This was my view during breakfast in El Nido, Palawan...

Some shots while my family went island hopping in paradise...

Wow, God's creation is so awesome!

Our boatmen grilled some fish and porkchops and prepared our food right in our boat.  Look at the presentation of the eggplant salad!

See how "El Nido" is spelled out?

Thanks for dropping by!

WOYWW: In Transit

I am in the Narita Airport waiting to board a plane back to Manila so my post for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday isn't really a Wednesday desk! This was my hotel desk before I packed up all this stuff. Can you spot my new Japanese watercolors?

WOYWW: Bali

I just got back (a few hours ago) from Bali, Indonesia and my main desk is as I left it...

but my prayer desk is now a dumping ground for my buys.

I bought a lot of bamboo fans with various batik-like designs...

and some woven "Ikat" material.  That's "What's on My Workdesk (this) Wednesday!"

In Bali, there are a lot of arts and crafts and a lot of them are related to their Hindu religion, which is so much a part of their everyday lives.  Their homes have their own elaborate family temples,

and bamboo pole decorations at the entrance.

They prepare ceremonial offerings every day and you will find them all over as you walk along the streets...

As a Christian, this is the way I also want to be, with my faith lived out in my everyday life.  No little flower and fruit ceremonial offerings every day, but the offering of my time, talent, treasure - the offering of my whole life.

Blessings to all of you and thank you for visiting me!

WOYWW: Dumaguete

Belated Happy WOYWW Anniversary, WOYWWers of the world!  I can't believe that I actually missed posting on that special What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday :-(   I was down with a bad cough because of the cold weather of Montreal, and spent Wednesday last week traveling to San Francisco to visit my son in Berkeley.

Soon after we arrived home, we traveled to Dumaguete where my "desk" today is.  Well, it is actually a bed because I am packing to go back home again. Dumaguete is in the island of Negros so there's a tourist map on the left, together with some buys from the souvenir shop.

The main attraction in Dumaguete is a trip to Apo Island where there is a sea turtle sanctuary.  Swimming with the giant sea turtles was an awesome experience...

My family and I were the only ones staying in this resort...

and this was my view, watching the sunset. Can't help but feel really blessed!

I hope you, too, are feeling blessed with the little ordinary blessings of life.  Although it is wonderful to take vacations, for me, there's still no place like home.  Goodbye, Apo Island...

Posting this late since I couldn't get it to go through using the hotel's WI-Fi.

WOYWW: Montreal Maps

My desk today for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday is in Montreal, Canada and it's full of maps and brochures. I like how maps look and I often bring them home from my trips abroad with plans to make them into scrapbooks and collages. But I guess even if I live to a hundred, I will not be able to use them all up!

Some pictures I took here: The entrance to the first "skyscraper" in Montreal...

We thought the Hôtel de Ville de Montréal was a hotel.  It is actually their City Hall...

The Basilica of Notre Dame of Montreal...

When I saw the awesome altar, I thought to myself, wow, what must heaven be like!

Happy WOYWW, everyone!

WOYWW: In Transit

My desk today for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday is my lap, in the Narita Airport in Tokyo, Japan.  My hubby and I are on our way to Montreal, Canada and I have brought along my prayer journal, meditation guides and my basic art materials.  I'm posting from an iPad so I hope I get to post. Happy WOYWW, dear deskers!

WOYWW: Puerto Galera

It seems that the Weekly What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday link party is the only reason my blog still gets updated!  The WOYWW anniversary is coming up and hopefully I will be able to get some ATCs done.  My main desk is still filled with the mess of travel stuff that needs to be put away so I am showing you my prayer desk with an acrylic painting I made while helping my niece practice painting.

There is also a prayer journal from my future daughter-in-law.  It has a wonderful reminder...

Here is my WIP journal illustration for today.

And the reason I haven't gotten to do much blog visiting - a trip to Puerto Galera...

And as usual, more pictures in Instagram (of arts and crafts:@peggy_aplSEEDS, and of my travels: @peggyapl)

WOYWW Late Post: Coron, Palawan

I was in Coron, Palawan last Wednesday and although I made a post for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, I couldn't get it to post because our internet wasn't working well.

We went island hopping somewhere near here...

in this boat...

The water was amazing!

And for Word Art Wednesday, a verse which is even more meaningful to me after I looked out at the vastness of the sea...

A blessed Holy week to all!

WOYWW: Japan

For once I am so pleased with my messy desk!  It is filled with goodies I brought back from my visit to Nagoya and Takayama, Japan (I arrived just a few hours ago).  Japan is the best place to buy washi tape (well, it did originate there)...

and all sorts of pens...

I am looking forward to using my goodies for my journal illustrations...

And if you are on Instagram, you may be interested in more pictures of my journal illustrations (@peggy_aplSEEDS) or some pictures of my travels (@peggyapl)...
