WOYWW: Bali

I just got back (a few hours ago) from Bali, Indonesia and my main desk is as I left it...

but my prayer desk is now a dumping ground for my buys.

I bought a lot of bamboo fans with various batik-like designs...

and some woven "Ikat" material.  That's "What's on My Workdesk (this) Wednesday!"

In Bali, there are a lot of arts and crafts and a lot of them are related to their Hindu religion, which is so much a part of their everyday lives.  Their homes have their own elaborate family temples,

and bamboo pole decorations at the entrance.

They prepare ceremonial offerings every day and you will find them all over as you walk along the streets...

As a Christian, this is the way I also want to be, with my faith lived out in my everyday life.  No little flower and fruit ceremonial offerings every day, but the offering of my time, talent, treasure - the offering of my whole life.

Blessings to all of you and thank you for visiting me!

Peggy your desk looks as though you bought a treasure trove in Bali - love your thoughts on wanting to live your faith moment by moment, totally surrendered to God.
Blessings

I really enjoyed seeing both desks and your trip to Bali this week. How wonderful that you were able to experience a different environment and religion.

Thanks for the earlier visit. Happy WOYWW from #2.

I feel like such a fool. I wasn't paying attention and thought I was replying to Patsy. Her blog link goes to your post.

Lots of lovely goodies from Bali. It would be amazing if our faith could be such an integral part of our daily walk. I try, not always with a lot of success.
Love the painting on your desk.
Happy WOYWW!

How lovely it was to share your Bali post with you. My friend is going there for her 60th year celebrations next March so I will pass on your link to her. Some gorgeous fans and the ikat fabric is lovely.
Thanks for sharing and how lovely to see your painting in the first picture - what a welcome home that must have been.
Hugs, Neet 22 xx
