After staring at the blank margins of my journaling bible, I finally took the plunge and did my first illustration! I think the thought of having a blank bible on my desk again for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday pushed me to, as the popular ad line says, "Just do it!" Since the pages are so thin, I decided to start with using just a Pigma Micron pen and some colored pencils.
As you can see, I did some major pencil sharpening, and I'm not done yet. I think I need to buy some new sharpeners.
That's it for this Wednesday's desk! What's on yours?
wow thats some serious pencil sharpening there, you can use the shavings to make backgrounds

Journalling is the best fun ever! Go to an art shop and buy yourself a good quality sharpener that has a long blade. That way you get better oints.I love my 2 new sharpeners, and well worth the extra you pay.I am journalling too- a course in drawing I am doing informally with my auntie.
ReplyDeleteA visit to WOYWW would not be the same without a visit to you and your desk.
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing the Bible, now I fully understand what a journalling bible is. Beautifully illustrated as always. Lovely pencil work. Have you seen Nikki's pencil collection?
Hugs, Neet 13 xx
Wow! A new Bible! Have you filled the previous one?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that is some pencil sharpening! How many colors red can a girl have!
Lovely verse.
Have a good week,

Last week my friend said I should get a journalling Bible because she knows I hate making notes or 'defacing' books when we are discussing it. I am glad you have started - I think maybe working on the page makes you think about the words - lovely. By the way I never use a sharpener - as a trained artist I always use a knife because you get sharper points and have more control (unless you have difficulties) Jackie 21 x

Wow! I am so impressed with what you have done with your Bible journaling. I don't have the right kind of Bible, but want to do the journaling. May do something in a separate journal. Just can't bring myself to do it in my Bible. Don't know, still mulling the whole Bible art journal thing over. LOL Yours is great! #53
ReplyDeleteI'm loving seeing bible journaling around the world! I don't practise Christianity so won't do it myself, but I do think it's a lovely idea to express your faith in the book itself! I like your bible with the wide margins! Popping in as part of my blog commenting challenge 300 in 30 days! I found you via Julia's WOYWW.
