What's on my desk for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?
A no-sew bag I made using two bamboo rings I bought in Japan and a "furoshiki,"
A giveaway journal my hubby received that I need to paint over (here is the front that I already finished painting over)...
and some of my old toys that I got from my parent's home - my old sewing machine (it really worked!)
my Tammy doll (did any of you have a Tammy?)...
and my favorite mechanical photographer (until now, she still "takes pictures"!)
And for this lenten season, something for Word Art Wednesday...
Blessings to all!
How kewl are all your old metal toys Wow they are still working too must just make you smile to still see them and didn't own a Tammy doll
ReplyDeleteThe journal is looking really nice once you painted it
Lovely to see your old toys! Don't think I had Tammy... Helen 5
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful bag :-), and I love what you did to re-use the diary, taking it from utilitarian to beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour dolls are so sweet, even now. I have seen machines like that, but never owned one :-).
Blessings

ReplyDeleteI adore that old sewing machine!! How fab is that..I've never seen another one like it. And that Japanese fabric bag is gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy 300 hugs,

I love your old toys, and that piece you did on Joel 2 is marvelous. Happy 300th WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteLove all those goodies on your desk! What fun having some of your old toys. I have an old bridal doll that I'm planning on making a dress for. I am still searching my mom's house for my little old sewing machine from the 1960's, it really worked like yours. But yours is cuter! Mine was just plain grey. Happy WOYWW #300! Sandy Leigh #58
ReplyDeleteWow those old toys are so facinating. They certainly don't make them like they used to. I had a easy bake oven..the only thing that actually worked..until you ran out of mixes and Mom wouldn't buy more..LOL Happy 300th WOYWW Shel - paperocotillostudio #25
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to see children's dolls that don't look like hookers! Awesome. They should still make them like this, the innocence of childhood is getting lost! Love your painted journal cover - beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #71
ReplyDeleteHappy 300th! I had a go at furoshiki once, but never thought to add handles. Love your book cover. Lucy #6 x
ReplyDeleteReally love all your old toys. They don't make them like that any more do they?

Hi Peggy happy 300th WOYWW. Love the refurbished cover on the journal - so bright and cheery and do remember having a toy sewing machine, heaven only knows where it went. Cheers RobynO#14
ReplyDeleteAh Tammy! Yep, that's a name I remember! I love what you did with the give away journal. Now that's just the sort of thing I gather n and then do absolutely nothing with..so kudos to you - agaiN!
ReplyDeletePeggy,
ReplyDeleteThe front of the journal is BEAUTIFUL. The art brought me back to days in the choir singing that wonderful scripture in the hymn. Beautiful memories, beautiful art. I really admire what you do, the pearls around the heart are so meaningful to me. “Word Art Wednesday” thanks you for entering this lovely art in our 173rd challenge. We appreciate seeing your beautiful entry.
BLESSINGS Carole
Oh you've got so much going on. The old toys are wonderful and must bring back so many memories. I don't think I've ever seen anything like any of them. The sewing machine is really great. It would be an awesome display piece.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous piece of art, Peggy. Your creations are always so heartfelt and beautiful, and I can't thank you enough for sharing your talents with us. I hope you have a blessed week, my friend.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!
