WOYWW: Practice

It's been a long time since I have posted a photo of my whole desk.  It is usually piled high with all sorts that I've pushed towards the ends of the desk!  But last saturday I had the time to do a tidy up and I am so pleased with my clear desk even if it will last only for a short time.  On my desk is a wonderful book my sister Patsy gave me for Christmas...

some Christmas cards to put away and a photo taken when we attended a wedding last Friday...

and my attempt at some Calligraphy.  I need a lot of practice if I want to get better and being left handed seems to make it even harder!

Praying takes practice, too.  I used to find it so hard to spend just a few minutes of quiet time in the morning but after more than 35 years of practicing, it does gets better.

I guess keeping a tidy desk takes some practice, too.  But I guess I will concentrate on practicing other things, LOL!  Blessings to all of you!  Thank you for dropping by!

  2. As always, wonderful post...great pics...and your art work is so beautifully done.
My sister wanted to use my computer this past week...she came plenty of time to do some cleaning, so my desk actually got cleaned! I think I need to have company come and use my computer more often.

  10. When my desk gets out of control I try every time I walk past it to leave the room is put something away and when I enter again do the same thing. Sometimes I put away a few thing and it gets better faster. don't worry about it to much it will get clear eventually. I love your journal page and yes practice the calligraphy it is so worth the effort. I hope you have a wonderful week, blessings and happy WOYWW

  12. When I worked outside the home I prayed on my way to work. Now I'm retired and still spend my quiet time for prayer in the morning just before daylight. It seems to be a favorite time for me as well as twilight. Love your desk, what a wonderful space!

  13. Hope your desk is feeling better now, and being used.
I think left handeded people need more brains as we have to live in a right handed world, my excuse anyhow.
    Have a good week

  14. We crafters/artists live in a dilemma: a desk is at its best when messy and full of work, but on the other hand it needs to be cleaned sometimes.... You have a lovely craftspace and I'm sure it will soon be 'messy' again as you create beautiful things.
That book is awesome! What a perfect gift!
    Have a good week,

  19. Practise makes perfect, they say! And your art is evidence of that...the calligraphy is looking great. I used to do a lot of that at one point. Still have all the eons and nibs somewhere, and the main thing is not to try too hard! Relax a little and things will flow easier, honestly!!
Love the prayer art as well, so serene!

  21. My desk is almost always tidy. That is because all of the clutter is where it can't be seen. Love your post. Your journal page sentiment is talking to me. I used to make a pilgrimage to a secluded spot at least once a years for a day and just meditate. That spot is no longer available and it is missed. DW will tell you I could have been a monk the way I like solitude . - Jim
