Wow, this is the tidiest my desk has been for WOYWW in a long time. All there you can see are the gorgeous ATCs I received from the awesome WOYWW sewing sisters, Annie and Jo (also known as Wipso and Twiglet)...
I had to tidy up because just the other day, I made a big mess from an attempt to rescue a ruined bag by peeling off the outer layer of a faux leather trim that was already peeling off (experimenting what it would look like)...
Here it is after I finished peeling it all off. Not bad, what do you think? Any ideas about the next step?
And for Word Art Wednesday (WAW), a prayer journal illustration, also about rescuing...
Random.org picked a winner for my ATC giveaway last week and it is Carole Robb Bisson! Send me your address, Carole! Have a blessed week everyone!
Bonjour chère amie,
ReplyDeleteQuelle patience pour avoir épluché et redonner vie à votre sac !
Une autre merveilleuse illustration.
❁ Gros bisous ❁
I would have thrown the bag away but it looks ok now the layer is gold is off . Happy woyww Jill #9
ReplyDeleteI most likely would have tossed the bag too. It's not to bad now that you cleaned off all the gold hugs Nikki 6
ReplyDeleteOne persons trash is another's treasure. Looks better sans the faux leather alright. Are the ATCs being held up by a wooden shoe stretcher?! Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Nan G #12
ReplyDeleteGreat work on transforming the bag! Happy WOYWW Helen 11

ReplyDeleteHi Peggy, happy WOYWW and yeah tidy desk. I hate tossing out my old bags but invariably they all peel as they're not leather...don't know if I'd try to rescue one though..good job, Cheers and have a great week RobynO#21
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy so interesting with the bag ...t thought at first shoe polish, as that is what I would use on mine but they are leather so not sure what would work on faux leather but am sure you will work something out!! great post happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #31
ReplyDeleteHello Peggy. Thanks for visiting last week - sorry I didn't get the opportunity to get back to you....
ReplyDeleteGreat looking desk this week - well done for all the hard work. being of a somewhat lazy disposition - I would probably leave the leather as it is....I like the natural look.
Have a special week.

Thank you for my atc which has just arrived - too late for this weeks posting I am afraid. A beautiful painting, thank you so much - so glad I was your PiF person.
ReplyDeleteNot a clue what to do with the bag save paint the handles etc but then it might come off on your hands when you use it. Must say it looks ok from here as it is.
Hugs, Neet 26 xx
So thrilled to see the ATCs arrived safely....hope your sister's did too.
ReplyDeleteLove what you're doing with the bag.
Hugs,

Wow, what a great job you've made with your bag. I would've thrown it away, just goes to show you should never be hasty.

I must confess, love your desk better messy! No suggestions for the purse... The prayer journal age is inspiring! I like the affect of having the words come out like like that. It's kind of like an echo.
ReplyDeleteGosh you were brave to take the bag on. Your desk looks lovely and tidy though.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting, Angela x #45

you did a good job on the bag Peggy - wonder what you will decide to do - sew some nice fancy ribbon or trimming on it - or maybe embellish with studs?
ReplyDeleteFantastice WAW artwork too...
Happy WOYWW

That is a very tidy desk, just waiting for a new project : D. I like the bag transformation too Happy WOYWW! #51
ReplyDeletePeggy,
ReplyDeleteThe purse handle.... I thought you gave up, cut the old handles off and sewed some quilted ones on. Your art journal, imagine if you will, when we trust God and speak His Word, that we would have a halo of scripture around our head like your beautiful art depicts. We appreciate that you take time to share with us at Word Art Wednesday this week.
Blessings, Carole Robb Bisson
Thank you for the prize. Having something you made will made will be a great honor. crb
Now that the straps are cleaned up, I thing using a script stamp in black or sepia would look awesome on it! Using Satz-On of course! Lindart #72
ReplyDeleteYour desk is looking very tidy. And cool idea on the purse. I have one with handles that are peeling. I may try rescuing it.

You must have the patience of a saint to have done all that work on the bag, why don't you use alcohol ink on the bands it would be interesting the effect it would have. Have fun regardless.
ReplyDeleteBelated WOYWW greetings.

Beautifully done! I love your image and the way you wrapped the words around her. Because I have always just ordered all my materials together.
