Did you know that yesterday, July 30, was International Day of Friendship? The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. "On this International Day of Friendship, let us cultivate warm ties that strengthen our common humanity and promote the well-being of the human family."- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
And among my best friends are the members of my family! I am blessed to have three sisters and one brother. All of us sisters work together and as some of you may know, my sister, Patsy (who actually introduced me to WOYWW) and I live right next to each other!
Happy WOYWW, dear blog friends!
I didn't know you and Patsy were sisters!!! I follow both of you, love your artwork and inspiration ... and you live next door to each other???? What a gift, what a blessing ... so enjoy both of your blogs, thank you for sharing your art and your faith ... just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love the International 'flavour' of this blog fest. My craft has brought me friends from all over the world. You are so lucky to work, and live alongside your sister. I have five sisters but we don't see one another very often. They all live fairly close together in southern England and I am going to visit them all in September. It is at least two years since I saw most of them and I am so excited.
ReplyDeleteMy church 'family' is also very important to me, especially living here so far away from everyone.
have a blessed day. Kate x
Every Wednesday is friendship day :-)

Hi Peggy, another UK WOYWWer here, but you're right, this is a UN convention all of it's own, I've already visited South Africa this morning and now The Phillipines, and I know I'll be off to Oz and the US before the day is done - and maybe Holland if the temperature has cooled down in Marit's studio... Your journal pages are, as ever beautiful and inspirational. Thank you for this thought provoking post. MMx #42
ReplyDeletePeggy, I love your work, do you use stamps for the sentiments or are they hand written? So many of your sentiments are so lovely and I would love to be able to buy similar ones, because I absolutely cannot hand write anything that is presentable.
ReplyDeleteThe sentiment about family is so precious and if only more families were living within biblical principles there would be far less heartache in the world.
AS for countries, I am in Wales, part of the United Kingdom.
Blessings to you and your family

Beautiful as always Peggy. Friendship is truly a wonderful thing and we are doubly blessed when our family are our friends - it sounds silly but I know plenty of people who aren't in that situation and I think it is very sad. Happy WOYWW, Cindy #45
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have your family so close and what a wonderful post and artwork in honor of friendship. Wishing you a wonderful week and Happy WOYWW! Danie #25
