Here is an illustration from my prayer journal, as I reflected on Psalm 103 and the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Here is a Father who loves his child so lavishly that sin and ungratefulness cannot lessen this love - boundless, forever, unconditional love. This is the love that God has for you and me. My weaknesses, failures and disobedience cannot lessen this great love. This is the kind of love I want to grow in.
Even when I am unfaithful and disobedient, with every step I take to return to God, He hurries to meet me with great joy, just like the Father in this parable. Thank you, Lord!
