A neat desk! Can you believe it?! You may be in shock to see that it seems like my neat desk has lasted a week (since last Wednesday)! But in reality, last Saturday, it was a great big mess because I was making little souvenir Philippine flag tokens for my kids to give away during World Youth Day in Madrid this month. They are now drying on the living room floor (the charms, not the kids).
Here's a close-up...
And on my desk, my altered dictionary, opened up to one of the pages I've worked on...
This page is for the words "beautiful" (krásný) and "beauty" (krása, kráský).
Then, here is a metal (I guess it is a calling card holder) medical giveaway that I am altering. It has the brand name embossed on both sides so I covered it up with gesso. I think it will make a nice stand to display cards or ATCs...
Some recent buys...
a string of real pearls for ₱290 (£4.22),
the book "The Art of Personal Imagery" by Corey Moortgat, on sale at ₱140 (£2) and under it, another book I bought to "alter one of these days." I liked the title, "Heart of the Land" and it was only ₱10 (£0.14)! If you want to see a close up of the mother and child painting I was working on, please visit my previous post and if you want to visit other desks from all over the world, drop by Julia's blog for the WOYWW list.
The dictionary is getting more beautiful and interesting! And those book finds, I love them.:)

Love your post and the work on your desk (and floor) this week! Having seen your sister's blog, I'm wondering why she doesn't join in this too?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by...
WOW Peggy what bargains you've been buying...
ReplyDeleteSorry - I haven't been by here since I last did WOYWW quite a while ago - and realise when i come to revisit friends I made - that I don't do it nearly enough... I'm really hopeless at following blogs through that dashboard thing - but I begin to realise I should come to your blog more than I do.
Interesting to read you are (or somebody is) going to Madrid? We love Madrid - we've been a couple of times but its somewhere where we'll return again and again. The culture and architecture there is awesome and breathtaking. What an experience someone will be having. Love those little flags you've been making - very generous give aways... I'd better read more cos you probably explain more about it somewhere.
Anyway, I'd love to go shopping with you - or at least buy from the same shops as you - its so cheap... we could never get real pearls for £4!
The altered dictionary looks interesting - I wouldn't know where to start - and would feel bad using a dictionery unless it was damaged already - so will read more out of interest.
Lovely to be back to your desk anyway
love Paula x x x
