WOYWW: OWOH WIP

Do you ever have to google the abbreviations you come across in the internet?  I do!  JICYDK ("Just In Case You Didn't Know" according to this Internet Slang website) my post title means "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday: "One World One Heart" Work in Progress."

Hmm, seems my desk is in need of a tidy up since there wasn't even enough space on it for my project.  I had to pull open a drawer to find somewhere to work on!  And no, I do not read Chinese, if you are wondering about the Chinese pages.  I just use them for collages.

Not that much progress in my project.  So far, I have transferred the sketch to a final sheet coated with gesso, and I have started to color it with watercolor and colored pencils.  I am deciding whether I will go for light, monochromatic shades this time. I am also planning to add some lace and paper, and as usual, who knows how it will turn out.  Ralph Waldo Emerson said " "Life is a journey, not a destination."  And I think, so is art!

Today I will keep my WOYWW post short and try to post some other stuff on other days.  After all, there are over a hundred desks to visit.  Come join in the fun of WOYWW!

    Ooh those unbound pages are gorgeous. I love that you've resorted to a draw for a desk...a beautiful sketch - the expression on that baby's face is exquisite.if my desk were this interesting, I would be a happy person. And in the best tradition of nosey - I see you even write your name beautifully inside a roll of tape!

    Love your desk and the use of a chinese newspaper for collage. Your mother and child are coming along nicely. I wonder why you gesso the paper unless of course it's because you will be adding collage paper later.

    so much to see and yet so calm is it the art work or the big mug that makes this feel so warm and cozy. Maybe both. I like your lazy Susan I may need to do that for my desk as it's hard to get to some the stuff at the back of the desk. Great idea.

    One of my favourite visits is to your blog - always such beautiful artwork on show. Today is no exception - a beautiful picture and I think it would be nice kept light, especially as you are planning on adding lace etc.

    Just poped back to say that it was real .... the intension was to stuff the cat into a microwave to kill it as punishment to his girlfriend who had left him and who actually owned the cat originally. It is hard to believe that anyone could do that ...no matter how unstable they were.... thats why the cat is with us.
