What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and some Giveaways

Hello, WOYWWers and all my other blog friends!  Last Wednesday, I shared about altering my clothes and some of you may have thought I actually know how to do this expertly.  Well, I wrote a post about how I made the pattern that's on my desk today.  I alter clothes with just this pattern and no measurements (something like doing it the "Sewing for Dummies" way).

Also on my desk today are some envelopes.  I've been preparing them to send off with the new trades I've made this week.  Look up this post if you want to take a peek at the artist trading cards I made this week.

For a visit to more workdesks, messy and otherwise, hop on over to Julia's blog!  Hopefully, I will have a more interesting desk next week!

Have you heard about the great Silhouette giveaways going on?  There are giveaways on Tidy MomSugar Doodle,  V and Co., The Idea Room, and Mom Advice for the Silhouette machine.  This machine can help you make all sorts of wonderful projects.  You'll see it on my desk if I win it!  Or who knows, I could see it on yours if you join!

  17. Peggy this cannot be called a boring desk...am so impressed at your pattern and the method by which you arrived at it...I can sew, but I need a pattern, am hopeless at making them up, gets me all hot and bothered and then if they go wrong, I get cross at wasted time and effort..definitely something for skilled persons like you to do! SHow and tell a newly made blouse soon huh? AM so enjoying this journey!

  19. Ah a silhouette might be amazing as I do scrapbooking too. And sewing for dummies or not, as long as you have fun and you enjoy doing it. There's no wrong way in the crafting department :)
    Have a lovely day!

  20. Holy cups of pencils! Lots!
I love sewing, but do it badly. I'll confess that my beloved hon does all of the 'real' sewing around here, but you have piqued my interest in learning for myself.

  31. I used to sew, many moons ago, but only with a proper fitting pattern, no good at altering to fit. Just wanting to reach in and grab some of those pencils!! I have a lot but all in own container so I know which box the color came out of when I need to use again, hate grabbing the wrong one.

  32. I used to make dresses for my daughter when she was smaller, but haven't been near a sewing machine for years...I really must start again as I love patchwork. I made a duvet cover once - don't do anything by halves!!

  42. Good on you to make your own pattern from an old blouse. I have been using a very old Vogue pattern from many years ago when I used to work in a fabric and haberdashery shop to make my shirts(I did fashion and design at college and am still able to create a template to fit but hey lifes to short right?). I alter this to fit the shirt to how I want it not to how fashion dictates lol. I also do the same with a plain skirt pattern.

I love your ATCs you are so talented. I wish I could get as good at drawing.

Thanks for popping over to my blogg. Anita
