What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday: Sewing, Collage, Storage

Busy, busy, busy!  My desk is busy with sewing projects this week.  I decided to alter some clothes to fit me (no, I did not lose or gain weight, I just bought wrong sized clothes because they didn't have them in my size and they were cheap!).  I also cut some long sleeves to make them short (it is often hot in the Philippines!)  So there's my sewing machine, which is usually covered and pushed to the end of my desk.  And beside it, is my sewing box and all sorts of threads, scissors, etc.

And just for you, I propped up my latest collage in the midst of the mess.  I described how I made it with wall putty, watercolors, colored pencils, and book paper in my previous post.

For those of you who wanted to take a peek inside some of the plastic bins under my desk, here's one filled with empty mini tins that I plan to alter one of these days, a Thing-a-ma-jig that I plan to use one of these days, some flowers I will use one of these days, and all sorts of "one of these days" kinds of things.

Here is another drawer and this time it's filled with poster paints, acrylics, chalk pastels and other materials.  At least I use these (dirty paint tray as evidence!)

If you have no idea what "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday" is all about, pop on over to Julia's blog.  And if you haven't invited us to take a peek at your desk yet, why not join in the fun!

  10. Your ability to alter your dress size and shape amazes me. I can't sew a straight line, so I;m totally impressed. I've wanted one of those thing a ma jigs forever. And to think yours sits still in its original package (grin).

Now I'm off to see your previous post about the tree.

  20. Love the drawers - especially the paint one *g* I don't use a pallette anymore (or plate as it was in my case) after a tip from one of the Gauche Alchemy girls. I use paper and then over time that paper becomes all beautiful and paint smeared and can be used as part of my art ;)

  22. Nice to see in the drawers. I adore the collage, beautiful tree :-) Good idea about the clothes; I've been thinking lately if I see something and dont like the colour I could buy it and dye it! But will consider the making smaller option too now.

  31. Enjoyed my visit today - I sew too so it's nice to see signs of activity such as threads and spools. Must get around to altering some of my stuff too, now that I've managed to shrink a bit ... Lovely canvas, that sort of tree of life motif has always been a favourite of mine.

  35. You have a neat looking sewing machine. Mines only a very basic one with about 20 basic embroidery designs nothing fancy unfortunately and I can't justify buying a new one.

Can't imagine why anyone would like to have a look inside the boxes LOLOL - fab hideaways :)

Love the canvas - it looks like its opened up its branches to have a stretch and to embrace the new day.

Made curtains instead - great loved it. Still had the creative streak now make cards when inspiration comes my way. Love your blog. lol Jo

I wondered where you live as I was going to ask if you had a QVC outlet shop near you. They are selling the Cinch machines at less than half price but when I saw you are so far away there is no chance for you to get to one in England!! So sorry! Never mind.
