WOYWW: Recorded

My son is going to study in UC Berkeley and I'm cleaning out the attic because he decided to have some garage sales in the past few weekends.  I found some old Betamax and VHS tapes which I want to get transferred to DVDs...

and some old pictures of mine - my life recorded in these.

Most of the events we record are the happy ones but this verse I illustrated for my prayer journal says "my tears are stored in God's flask," "recorded in his book."

I drew this when my mother was very sick and she has since passed away.  Whatever challenges life brings, whatever tears I shed, I can remember that God is with me and he knows what I am going through and together with the psalmist, I can proclaim, "In the shadow of your wings I take refuge.

Sharing this with my blog friends in What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and Word Art Wednesday.  Blessings to all of you!

Gros bisous ✺❀✺

Two more of your beautiful artwork in faces, I could gaze at them for hours.
I love the words about tears, very fitting for when you did them and for so many times in one's life.
The photographs are something special, what a beautiful baby who grew up to be a beautiful young girl and has now grown into a beautiful lady.
Hugs, Neet 6 xx

Thank you so much for sharing that. I lost my mother in December, and i think lately I'm missing her more each day. I really need the Lord's strength. I feel completely helpless because now there's nothing I can do to help her or bring her back and I want her back. So thank you for this beautiful art full of hope and encouragement. Sandy Leigh #57

Having lost my Mom 3 years ago, I can relate to what you wrote. Yep, I still miss her everyday.

Funny how we keep things and technology turns right around and makes them obsolete! I have stashes of slides from the years my sons were born that really need to be dealt with. Now you rally have me thinking about getting them taken care of.

Your artwork is stunning!

Beautiful! sentiments!! My husband once asked the Lord what he does with all of our tears that He is saving in his flasks and he believed the Lord replied that He will pour them out on us as blessings! : )

My journey home has been filled with many tears so I'm excited to see the blessings he is storing up for me : )

Have a wonderful day!!

As always your illustration of scripture is lovely.

Enjoy revisiting the memories on the tapes and in the photos!

How life moves on! The tapes remind me of this. Over the last 50 years so much has happened, it may seem like a long time but in real terms it's nothing at all.
Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x #41

What a lovely post, Peggy. I love your artwork depicting the "low" times of your life. I have in my possession a genuine Middle-Eastern hand-blown blue glass tear bottle - rather than sending flowers in an arid climate, grieving friends would send a bottle of their tears to the family of someone who had died - a much more poignant memorial, I think!

I have spent many hours digitising all my old video tapes and a ton of photographs. Now I can actually enjoy them again! It's well worth the effort. All the best to your son as he starts life at university - an exciting time for you all!

Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment which made me smile - I'm afraid I don't have your excuse for a large stomach lol!!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Thank you for your return visit, Peggy, and for your sweet comment! So much appreciated. Sometime I must get around to photographing the tear bottle and sharing it with you - it is one of the most beautiful objects in my possession. I bought it at a charity lunch for a very small amount, and the lady who brought it for the sale table told me what it was.

Hope you are having a great week!
