Psalm 18: God's Way

A blessed week to all of you!  Here is an illustration from my prayer journal.

In life, we make choices every day.  Stephen Covey says, “While we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions.”  Sometimes it's hard to know what is the right thing to do.  But other times it is clear to us what God's way is.  We can choose to forgive, to love, to be grateful.  And God's promise in Psalm 18 is that His way is unerring.  Lord, let me walk in it!

Giveaway Girl WIP

I've decided to get ready for a giveaway so here is one of my UFOs (UnFinished Objects) that I'm trying to finish.  She's collaged on to a painted background, with book paper leaves on the tree and real lace for her shawl.

Have Faith!

Oh, to have faith like the woman in Mark 5:25-34!

I have been reading about Heidi Baker, have just watched her testimony and have been amazed at the miracles she has seen in her ministry.  Have you heard of her?  Have you seen miracles in your life?

"And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.  She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.  When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.”  Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
“You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’
But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.  Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth.  He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Paint Party Friday

Happy Friday, dearest blog friends!  Here is an ATC from my Filipina in Terno series...

and an illustration from my prayer journal...

This verse from Psalm 139 is one of my favorites!  Everyone of us is fearfully, wonderfully made!  We don't have to look like the models in magazines.  We don't have to be as smart as the summa cum laudes.  We don't have to be perfect parents.  We don't have to be rich and famous.  We don't have to be the most talented artists.  We don't have to have high paying jobs.  God says we are wonderful, and so we are!

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday: Plans

Happy Wednesday, dear blog friends (or whatever day you happen to drop by)!  I have been busy with making the floor plans for my friend's house renovation and hardly have had any time to go blog visiting.  I hope to find time to go visiting this week.  On my desk today is the prayer journal illustration I am working on, envelopes filled with the ATCs I'm sending off to those who asked to trade (still waiting for addresses from some others)...

and the latest scheme of my house planning (this time I have used the program 3d Home Architect to make the plan)...

I think planning a house is like planning how we want to live life.  There's just a limited amount of space to plan in and there's a limited amount of time that we have.  We have to know our priorities and give space/time for them.  We have to know our budget and live within our means, we have to balance all the different areas/responsibilities and find the best arrangement so that all the areas will relate well with each other.  Making a floor plan is like completing a puzzle.  Sometimes life's like that, don't you think?

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday: Renovation Plans

On my desk for WOYWW, our weekly show and tell, are some plans I am working on.  My friend bought a house and the plan is not good (an understatement) so I am helping her plan for a renovation.  I don't think I have mentioned it before - I am an architect by education.

It is difficult to plan from an existing plan with existing structural foundations which can't be changed.  It is much easier to plan from scratch and build the structural foundation according to the plan. Much like life, I think.  Much better to make good decisions from the start, to try to live life according to God's plan for my life than to do it my way and have to fix up the consequences of bad decisions.  And so I try to follow God's plan, and do as this verse from the bible says...

Peeking out from under the plans I'm working on is a page from my Altered Book (for Elizabeth's Altered Book course).  My Altered Book has pages of different countries.  I am sure you can guess what country this page is about!

Here I Am

Have I shared this journal page with you?  There are times when it isn't easy to do God's will, but I want to be able to say, together with the psalmist, "To do your will is my delight"!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday: An Assortment

For this week's edition of WOYWW, where bloggers around the world get together to show off their desk and take a peek at other's desks,  here is my desk (this is the neat part!)

A few close-ups.  Some ATCs that I will scan before I send off to new homes.  Thank you, dear blog friends, for offers to trade!  I will check to see if I have enough (and make a draw if not).  Hopefully, I can send these out soon.  Also, a page from my prayer journal (I am also scanning the pages and in my previous posts, I have pages from my journal).

A page in the making from my "Journey" altered book (I'm not sure if I've shown you this Hongkong page.)  If you are interested in making an altered book, the Altered Book course is available in Elizabeth's blog.

And here is a little tin from Heidelberg, Germany.  I asked my hubby if he had any tin cans I could  cut up for a project and this is what he gave me. Oh no, it's too cute.  I'll keep it as it is!

Check out what everyone else has been up to!  Julia has the WOYWW list.
